The New York Times reported today that an organization called the FreedomWorks Foundation, which claims to be “leading the fight for lower taxes, less government and more freedom,” is planning to sue the government over the $700 billion federal bailout program.
Led by former Republican House majority leader Dick Armey, FreedomWorks believes that Congress violated the Constitution’s nondelegation principle by giving too much of the power in the bailout program, or Troubled Assets Relief Program, to the executive branch.
But it’s a spokesman for Sen. Harry Reid who, in the story’s final two paragraphs, brilliantly steals the show.
Jim Manley, the chief spokesman for the Senate majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, said he was unimpressed by the foundation’s argument.
“Taking economic advice from Dick Armey is akin to taking shooting lessons from Dick Cheney,” Mr. Manley said. “Neither are particularly helpful.”

That’s probably the most brilliant quote ever! But as we all know, Dick Cheney is an EXCELLENT shot.
